When the core diameter of a tornado-scale vortex is larger than the effective beamwidth, we call the vortex a Tornado Signature (TS). With more than three beams sampling the vortex core, Vr max and Vr min almost always appear separated by at least two radials.

When the core diameter of a tornado-scale vortex is smaller than the effective beamwidth, we call the vortex a Tornado Vortex Signature (TVS). With less than three beams sampling the vortex core, Vr max and Vr min almost always appear separated by at least one or no radials.
